This is from the 2021 census:

www.ons.gov.uk/peoplepopulationandcommunity/culturalidentity/genderidentity/bulletins/genderidentityenglandandwales/census2021

Only 0.5% of people identify as a different gender/sex from the one they were born with.

Or they're people like us who don't feel any sense of gender identity but as they've bought into the ideology they take that to mean that their label is NB.

Which explains why so many mothers of trans children describe themselves as NB

This seems regressive and backwards, and it's shocking to see that thinking return after some decades of feminist work.

It really does doesn't it. I am encouraged by hearing my 10 yo DD and her friends being anti-sexism in much more the way we used to be, getting cross about assumptions about what colours they should like, or short hair being taken to mean someone isn't a girl. DD says it's one thing they all agree on. I hope they stay fierce.

Oh, is that a thing? I hadn't noticed, but it would make sense.

My partner saw the extra gender question and didn't realise it was bullshit, he just saw that 'male' was an option and since that's what he is, he was just going to tick the box. I imagine that's why most people filled it in did.

I'm trying to make sense of the data and what it means - are non-binary and other categories all included in the 'identified as trans' in Figure 2 overall population by age graph? I'm struggling to interpret that graph (figure 2) can anyone explain it to me please?

I'm also very curious about the 35-44 age group who ticked gender different from sex at birth but didn't give any identity.

If this is the map picture, trans identities are listed separately from nonbinary and 'other' identities.

You can choose a different category from the menu icon following the sentence "Gender identity the same as sex registered at birth." Nonbinary is one of the choices, so then you get a map showing the percentages of nonbinary in various parts.
