New Year Resolutions

New Year's Eve and thinking about personal resolutions. To quote a wise woman:

But accusations of TERFery have been sufficient to intimidate many people, institutions and organisations I once admired, who’re cowering before the tactics of the playground. ‘They’ll call us transphobic!’ ‘They’ll say I hate trans people!’ What next, they’ll say you’ve got fleas?

In 2023 I resolve not to let others determine the language I need to use to express myself clearly. I am confident in the nature of my character that I will not deliberately try to hurt anybody just going about their business, but I won't any longer be coerced into a choice between telling untruth or remaining silent in my every day life.

Any other resolutions?

I resolve to collect enough of the cats hair to make a special edition "pussy merkin"

I resolve to ask "WHY?" Every time I am told to "be polite" by some random person

I resolve to shout

WOMAN

Whenever i damn well please

Off the back of that, my NY resolution is to avoid getting into any debates with those who are determined to paint women's concerns as illegitimate or hateful. Ignore them. They're a waste of words.

Instead, I will spend that time pushing back against gender ideology in my local area: emailing health trusts, my MP, my council, my local library, my university &c. If we all push, we can roll this nonsense back. 2023 is the year. 💪

@Boiledbeetle they are all good. @MuffytheWooWooSlayer we have to try don't we? So many of my RL friends mutter in corners. It will take a concerted effort of a large number of women I think. Those who have stood up so far will always be heroic in my eyes.

To tell more people quite frankly to fuck off when they are
