I loved her! Both as a designer and as a human.

Had a short romantic fling with her DS2 in my much younger days and was given no end of Auntie Vivi’s products. Sold a few whenever I ended up on my arse financially, helped me through no end of sticky situations. Hopefully I will get to keep the bits I have left now I am a proper grown up!

Really sad about ‘Boudoir’ perfume being discontinued, it was my absolute favourite for years.

To be honest I would adore Vivienne Westwood no matter what she said.

She seemed a wonderfully uneven, knobbly, human, and interesting person. You don't often come across people like that.

My social media is flooded with her clothes today- they are stunning, imaginative, incredible. From the Pistols on she has inspired so many. I can’t afford designer (even second hand) but her ideas dripped into so many places it’s a style that’s easy to recreate on any budget. She’s my favourite designer. No one could do layering so exquisitely.

What a loss. She was genuinely a visionary and her aesthetic continues to pervade fashion and the wider culture. And I always loved Sara Stockbridge.

I'm also convinced she'd have been taken more seriously far earlier if she'd been male. After she split from Malcolm Mclaren she struggled to find financial backing, especially in Britain, even though she was well known by this point, which I assume was because she was written off just another eccentric. I think we were very fortunate she didn't decamp to Europe - they recognised her worth before her own country did.

I can only speak as I find. She was wonderfully kind and supportive to my friends daughter. She wrote to Viv as part of a school project and she wrote her a lengthy reply with an offer of any help she needed with her project.
