Incredibly the message that you cannot discriminate against feminists for believing that there are only 2 sexes is still not getting out there. Organisations are not only discriminating but they are actually putting the reasons for the discrimination clearly in writing. Crazy!

"I applied for a studio space in @ denmarkfarm. They refused to rent BC of my lack of belief in gender identity. Do they also discriminate against people who don't believe in God, or in Santa. Is reputational damage more important than the law?"

It's just getting bloody ridiculous now.

Do none of these companies and charities etc actually read the legislation they have to legally, like really legally not Stonewall how we would like it to be legally, abide by?

Way to many legally s in that last sentence.

Signalbox · 25/12/2022 22:57

Also the irony of them going on about “inclusion” being the reason they are choosing to exclude her. Did they even bother reading what they had written. It’s like a parody letter.

The whole exclusion in the name of inclusion thing is one of the most truly bizarre double think/not bloody thinking at all (take your pick) things about this. It makes me just want to shake them and shout "WAKE UP" at them

FOJN · 26/12/2022 08:23

That's a gem of a letter. I love that they refer to their legal responsibilities as a charity but then seem to think that their EDI Policy trumps the law of the land.

I hope Wild Womyn are going to take it further.

Redebs · 26/12/2022 11:24

Ridiculous.
Excluding women for wanting to be in male-free environment? FFS!

nilsmousehammer · 26/12/2022 11:28

The whole 'inclusion actually meaning exclusion of women from women's spaces/things' is becoming well known though, I'm seeing it written out more and more.

Now let's see a nice, big expensive pay out in court please. A few of those will focus insurers' minds. And make it up to the women suffering all this MRA bullshit.

Cheerfulpedantry · 26/12/2022 17:25

They need to rename themselves the 'Obedient woman'. There is nothing wild about them.

And yes, ' we have to exclude you because of your womanly beliefs, because we are inclusive women'. Can they not hear themselves?

Oh I am sorry, I misread it as an organisation called Wild Women doing the excluding. My bad.

RoaringtoLangClegintheDark · 26/12/2022 17:49

Bloody hell. This horror show is evidently still very much running.

waterwitch · 26/12/2022 17:59

If it was a Jewish group or a Muslim group, or a back group, I wonder if it would be ok to exclude people who didn’t fit that definition? I assume it would, but, interested if anyone knows?

You can have charities that limit their service provision to a specific minority. The recently-in-the-news charity "Sista Space" would be a good example of that. But Denmark Farm appear to be a conservation centre so they can't lawfully exclude one minority in the name of "inclusion".

"Whilst the trustees support the rights of women to hold a feminist perspective..."

..women must realise that this right is ranked lower than the rights of men to control what is discussed within the public sphere. The trustees support the rights of women to hold their feminist perspectives in a quiet, polite and non-disruptive fashion.

Imbolc Mandala Painting anyone?

I kid you not.

Jaysus.

No, some hellacious mishmash of things isn’t “multiculturalism”.

Seriously, TAF is wrong with these people?
