What would happen if…

We all identified as trans women?

I often think this, and would be really interested to hear views of the FWR women.

I'm getting married soon in Scotland and they have my gender as woman on the paperwork and it was a ballache. I felt it in ´m'y very bslls! So I don't sent to redo it, but I am going to apply to be either a man or a transwoman shortly after. Not sure which yet. Both are equally speaking to my masculine self.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 25/12/2022 08:44

What would happen if... DadJoke realised that the whole thing is built on sand?

He's too invested. It won't happen. He'll continue to defend this toxic ideology as it all comes tumbling down around him.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 25/12/2022 08:47

I would like some clarification about how I can ensure I do not get myself accidentally excluded from women's spaces, if I identify as a transwoman..............

I doubt there's much danger of that in Scotland.

What would happen if the moon was made from pudding?

In order to get a GRC, you need to transition, that is, be transgender. I suspect what they are proposing is a criminal offense, when all it does is put male on your birth certificate and exclude you from women's spaces. The idea of a bunch of gender critical people lying on a statutory declaration to prove, well, what exactly? and ending up in prison is genuinely hilarious.

A GRC is not and was not meant to be a ticket into spaces intended for the opposite sex.

The fact that many businesses are misinterpreting the admittedly woolly Equality Act is separate to this. Which is why there is a petition asking for clarity.

Can anyone define what a legal male is?
DadJoke, maybe?

Sorry, is the law then suggesting <blasphemy alert> that there are only two genders??

TheBiologyStupid · 25/12/2022 17:41

It is for now, but GRR 2.0 will be along soon to correct that...! And doubtless the under-16s will be included, too.

Perhaps this will be of interest to this discussion. Seems wims are already on it!

I can't see the link

Buzzinwithbez · 26/12/2022 11:48

I bought a shewee when all the toilets were closed as I could see this was much less of a problem for men who could and did pee anywhere, so I think my transition was then.

Excellent, did you keep the receipt, or handily photograph yourself using said device. You'll probably not need them as proof but always good to be prepared.

duh, you bought a shewee or course you're prepared.

Handily the motto of the boy scouts is be prepared.

Buzzinwithbez · 26/12/2022 12:02

I have the Amazon receipt. I also bought it in khaki green, which is a very manly colour.
My husband who may be a little confuffled that he's going to become a gay man, but I'm sure he'll get over over it has also witnessed this feast of manliness many times. I mean, the signs were there. I stopped wearing a bra too around the same time off the shewee as I became prone to breast cysts. It's a pity I can't identify out of those completely but not wearing a bra seems to improve things a lot.

I think women in Scotland should apply en masse - just to slow up the applications for children applying.

Actually, seriously good idea.

As we’ve seen from a case in England, a transman can get pregnant by a sperm donor three days after getting the GRC that proves they’re officially a man. So no problem with continuing to live exactly as before.

And I’m in favour of anything that gives a child more time to think about the consequences of body-changing surgery and lifelong medication.

I guess it only costs a fiver so why not apply and have a last minute change of mind if you don’t actually want to become a man. That must be what the “3 month period of reflection” is for.

Boiledbeetle · 26/12/2022 12:56

And when they ask you why you've pulled out at the last minute 35 times it's because it's a big decision the penalty for it being fraudulent is massive! And so you really really really want to make sure you're making the right decision.

Wellies54 · 26/12/2022 13:53

So, to begin the process of transition, you start lying about your sex. If you continue lying about your sex for 3 months you can get a certificate which says you commit to lying about your sex for the rest of your life. You don't legally have to change anything; your name, your body, your clothes, job, hobbies, personality, your partner. As far as I can tell, it is simply a license to be dishonest. And what exactly is gained by this? It changes absolutely nothing about reality. I worry that this GRC legislation in Scotland is a test to see how easily law makers can be manipulated into redefining 'truth' and 'fact'.

Could it help first born daughters to inherit their father's titles?

This is one of the exceptions within the GRA isn’t it? So presumably not. Having said that so is women’s sports and everyone ignores that.

First rule of gender ideology - no man must ever be disadvantaged.

Inheritance, avoidance of the draft in America, mixed rowing teams. There are a few examples of where men would have been disadvantaged but strangely, biological sex is deemed to exist and no one seems to mind.

Sorry Wellies but you missed a bit...

First rule of gender ideology - no man must ever be disadvantaged, even if it kills you. Or he does.

Also visible how the so-called inclusive (erasing) language is only applied to the female sex. I am now collecting examples where in one sentence the woman is erased as a female person while the man is not erased as a male person. So far I have three of those, all from the last six months. And of course all those examples where the NHS erases 'woman' in female cancers but keeps 'man' in male cancers.

The male sex, overall, is losing nothing, while all negative consequences of this ideology fall on the female sex.

pieceofpasta · 26/12/2022 18:44

I agree that we need to take it to the extremes and all apply to be men. It needs to get really really silly. The men won't stand for it.

nepeta · 26/12/2022 18:49

I understand that non-binary is not included yet, but when it is I am going to identify as genderfluid.

I can then change gender on a daily (or hourly) basis based on which alternative might be of the greatest benefit (man on pay days, of course), and all others must remember my various names and pronouns not to misgender or deadname me.

Wellies54 · 26/12/2022 18:49

@Boiledbeetle @nepeta Yes, I agree. A list is starting to form in my head of the rules of gender ideology and how this relates to men and women. I have a feeling that another rule is that a woman can have a penis but a man cannot have breasts judging by the numbers of young women being mutilated.

I have often said on this board that we should all just start identifying as men. If enough people did it then it would really mess up figures/data very quickly.

Most men don't seem to be bothered about this because it doesn't affect them directly, maybe if it did they might sit up and pay attention.

I agree and then I think of we all Did it would it make a difference because we'd (women) still be treated exactly the same.

I dont know what the answer is.
