Having felt hideously depressed and angry for most of the day following the news in 🏴 today, I have been hunting around for some distractions and any scraps of news that gives me hope.
Does anyone remember Oli London? The influencer who identified as Korean? I didn't know this but he overcame that obsession, and then went on to identify as trans. However he has since realised ($250k later spent on surgery) that none of that was making him happy and he has admitted that it was wrong and what's important is learning to be happy with his body as it is.
I was just listening to an interview with him on a podcast and he even pointed out the dangers to women and girls of self ID. I was pleasantly surprised.
It's made me think and hope that stories like this will become more commonplace and people will speak out how they were misguided when in a very vulnerable place and at a young age and will feel anger and resentment towards the adults and professionals who steered them towards altering their bodies.
That's why rushing through laws to support this when we haven't even lived to witness the consequences is pure madness.
Anyway, I was hoping to start a thread to add similar things...I need the hope and sure many others do too.
