What baffles me is why and how this has happened. Even when being gay was a trendy identity that some young people would adopt for a while just to look cool (or piss off their conservative parents), gay people weren’t on this much of a pedestal. We have BLM and so on and social justice types ride that bandwagon but they don’t generally elevate black people like this either, into an untouchable category of perfection.

That's really transphobic surely. Literally any human body in existence on the planet could be a "trans body" the second its owner says "I'm trans". There's no such thing as a "trans body" category that's any different from all the other bodies. If there is, you're saying you have to have a particular kind of body to be trans, which is not the gender ideology position at all.

I’m comparing this with reports that a ‘laydee’ flashed a couple of teenage girls in a station. Presumably this was also a beautiful trans moment. The police will not be investigating (as if!) and the teenagers should not only be ‘reframing their trauma’ but should be forever grateful that they were lucky enough to witness this beautiful trans moment first hand. Can we all look forward to beautiful trans moments like this being experienced more widely? Well that should make the UK a nicer place to be 🙄
