Good article. I cannot wait to hear why they've ditched Susie Green.

Hmm, easy to see why The Guardian would not print anything like this. It’s clear she personally dislikes Green, but the reasons aren’t as strong in terms of arguments against Mermaids as they would need to be for a big newspaper

You think she personally dislikes Green? Why do you think this is personal, and not a professional criticism of Green’s actions?

You don't think a children's charity having staff supporting paedophiles, staff putting porn images of themselves online while working directly with children plus multiple safeguarding breaches is a big issue worth reporting? Confused

I'm sorry, but I have to disagree. Other papers have reported on the paedophile on the board of trustees, sending out breast binders in secret, advising very young people on how to obtain illegal hormones, the safeguarding disaster of referring children to a secret chat site with adults, telling them that they love and understand them, only they can help and not to tell their parents.

Not to mention the anti-scientific propaganda packs they sent to schools.

One thing I don’t get is journalists calling Green a former IT manager and an I T consultant, without further comment. At Leeds CAB she didn’t, to the best of my knowledge, manage anyone. No-one reported to her. She did all the IT stuff, and was in charge of it. This would be things like managing upgrades, dealing with hardware and software issues, dealing with licenses for software such as Word and Access, advising users when they needed IT-related help, and no doubt many other duties such as looking after the internal network and backing up their servers. Not a particularly easy job, but not what most people would think of as an IT consultant, and hardly the best training to be CEO of a rapidly growing charity.
