They seem to be a lot of these little groups in all sorts of public institutions that love to encourage people to get women (in particular) arrested.

Bloody ridiculous waste of money, as ever. Baronesses Nicholson and Jenkin point that out more succinctly than I could. Why should NHS staff be 'trans allies' any more than allies to anyone else, I have no idea.

But do read the article below that about Christ having a 'trans body' and the sermon preached on that subject in Cambridge.

Apparently the crucifixion wound in Christ's side is like a vagina. Never knew that, did you? The preacher does, of course, base his idea of Christ on images in Western art but I can't see that he acknowledges that. So probably not too accurate.

Happy Sunday!

🤣it's not actually funny haha but due to police shortages and everything going on we can struggle to get police to attend when staff getting assaulted or place getting destroyed by a patient/visitor.
Maybe will switch to saying someone's being transphobic and they'll get there quicker!

EmpressaurusOfWitchesBackFromTheDead · 27/11/2022 07:58

FFS. Encouraging pronoun use & mixed-sex toilets have nothing to do with making LGB people more welcome. Quite the opposite.

Also excellent point about the sheer waste of money.

This is a time where I think I would like to know the thoughts of a senior officer. Like this one:

Stop tweeting and get on with the job, police told

They will stop at nothing, will they?

Good comment:

How about a guide on how to be a women's ally, understanding how women, the ones without Y chromosomes, feel about men in their spaces and how to avoid causing distress?

ChristinaXYZ · 27/11/2022 15:55

It is so exasperating that that despite ministers telling departments to distance themselves that they continue to promulgate this stuff.

MrsOvertonsWindow · 27/11/2022 16:00

I must admit, I'd prefer it if the NHS Health Education trained their staff to offer safe maternity care to women and babies - rather than the dismal number of units that are considered unsafe, or tackled the excessive number of black women 4 times more likely to die in child birth. But then I'm old fashioned & bigoted enough to expect safe health care for women and babies and for that to be a priority for NHS Health Education Confused

There's a word for this. I want to say "sedition" but I'm not sure if that's right.

Undermining government. Is "sedition" the right word?

Yes indeed!

Because likening the vulva to a knife wound is not offensive at all, and totally something women do on a regular basis themselves. FFS.

Ilkleymoor · 29/11/2022 11:00

Incredibly misogynistic to compare vulva to an open wound. It's not a break or tear in my body. Repetition yet again of the female body being lesser, like we are born castrated, lacking a penis, as opposed to being born with a well designed and functioning body part. Just the same old sexism and fetishisation of the female body.
