I don't think this has been shared yet. In the Magazine section of today's Times, no comments allowed:

and shockingly the Labour Party refused KIS membership.

Yes. Rather telling.

WearyLady · 26/11/2022 21:23

I'm puzzled by KIS's relationship with Jess Phillip's and how the latter can tow the Labour Party line of transwomen being women.

zaramysaviour · 26/11/2022 21:32

Absolute hero. Thank you, KIS, for your work and your courage. And yes, defending female single-sex spaces is the hill I will die on too.

I've worked and campaigned in the VAWG sector for decades, and had never heard/realised that about burglaries. Shocking. (But not surprising.)

DisforDarkChocolate · 26/11/2022 21:33

What a woman. I followed the tweets yesterday, it's sobering to see so many wonderful women lost to this world at the hands of men.

Kucinghitam · 26/11/2022 21:43

What an incredibly moving, powerful article. I can only wish that as many people as possible read it.

PermanentTemporary · 26/11/2022 21:55

That was an absolute foghorn blast of an article.

@MrsOvertonsWindow yes - and the complaint was deliberately made to boast about the person involved accessing the Sh! website because it is run by women. I don't think they anticipated that accessing porn in public is universally seen as an offensive and very culturally male act even if the website banner is pink.

eurochick · 26/11/2022 22:39

What a great article.

There were many standout points, but saying this out loud and repeatedly is important,
"She wonders why Stonewall doesn’t devote its resources to setting up specialist services rather than campaigning against those created by and for women"

I actually old skool walked to the shop & bought the paper yesterday just to read this. Good to see.

Whereareyourshoes · 27/11/2022 21:44

Great article. Karen Ingala Smith is an incredible woman.

catandcoffee · 27/11/2022 21:56

What a very informative interview.

EwwSprouts · 27/11/2022 22:00

Hope today's sociology 6th formers pick it up.

ThePoshUns · 27/11/2022 22:15

Great article but sadly predictable that they had to turn comments off to avoid the inevitable pile on form the TWAW lobby.

Igmum · 28/11/2022 15:31

Thank you OP. She's a wonderful woman
