Today I went to buy some furniture with DH . Found what we wanted, sat in the office with very cheery salesman filling in the order form . At the end he asked if we would add a donation for BBC Children in Need.

I took a deep breath and said ‘ I won’t have anything to do with the BBC because of their stance on transgender issues.’
’Oh right, fine’
when we were leaving, he said to me ‘ do you mind explaining what you mean.?’ So I did, I kept it calm, I just said that the BBC seem to be in favour of the men who want to compete in womens sport, though that is quite unfair, and that they are involved with charities and organisations who think that children should be allowed to have life changing alterations to their bodies.

Cue a good few minutes with him talking about Serena Williams saying any lower ranked man could beat her, and it wasn’t fair not to have women’s sports for women. He said he was going to ‘have a look’ at the sex changes for children, as well.

so I was pleased. A lot of this stuff glides past people who are not directly concerned ( ie most men). Tiny drops of water wear away stone, though.

I use the Darren Mews, who worked for Mermaids, penis montage photo that was available to any child who googled his name (it's harder to find now but still out there) to get my point across at the moment, it's proving rather effective.

Well done Allthegoodnames, that was brave. The truth is, lots of people who haven’t really thought about it, instinctively hold a GC position. All exposure is good!

Something happened recently in my life were I stood up for women's rights and experienced an extremely negative result because of it, but I've been able to use that experience to talk openly for the first time about some of the issues (including to friends and my manager) and have found people almost overwhelmingly in agreement with my stance.

Well done to everyone who keeps fighting.

I use every opportunity to inform and educate people I met in daily life, most strangers.
I am now longer engaged because of this ( not my choice ) my previous partner shared my views but didn't want me talking about it, Kia Kaha wahine.
