Just bumping this as one of the more recent NYT threads as I just listened to a recent New Yorker podcast interviewing AG Sulzberger, the publisher of the NYT who is remarkably clear on his view that the paper should report facts over ideology of any kind. How promoting the narrative of any kind of 'good guy' - even with regards to Ukraine - is ultimately a weakness for a reputable news source.

Talk eventually turns to trans issues and Sulzberger holds the same line. Worth a listen for anyone interested in US media.

To add to the NYTimes occasionally allowing reasonable positions on trans issues, they just printed this today which slams transwomen in women's sports. I've always felt that Americans respond to unfairness in sports. The comments on this one are GLORIOUS.
