I saw this this on Twitter:

"Really shocked by this. Scottish Labour backed an amendment to stop sex offenders self-id'ing as women - but SNP and Greens blocked it."

It's encouraging that Scottish Labour backed it - at least it's a move in the right direction. It's such an obvious safeguarding measure - I too am shocked that anyone would oppose it. Scottish Labour/Tories should be shouting about this.

I feel it's actually more important than the scarf row - that's symbolic and easily remedied. Whereas this will put women and girls in actual physical danger and have a lasting effect in law.

It’s why I voted against the parliament to begin with. I’m mighty pissed off at Donald Dewar. It was set up without the proper checks and balances and this is the result - more utterly shit legislation that isn’t properly thought through

Absolutely, there is no second chamber, just a shower of spineless idiots who have been bought and zealots like Chapman, Adam & Fitzpatrick.

I find it embarrassing. It’s like the kind of legislation my ten Year old would write

they don’t seem to get the bigger picture.

are you also in Scotland? The crap in education is something else again

Yep, this was always a glaring omission in the parliament. Some aspects of our govt I quite like, although I'm really not sure about the modified D'Hondt system. The debating generally seems more civilised.

But lack of a second chamber that means legislation can be slapped together so poorly, and then rammed through with such a small vote, seems like about the worst idea ever.

Yes , I’m Scottish and in Scotland and for the first time in my life I’m embarrassed by my country. I am heartened by the determination, intelligence & strength of the women & men who are pushing back against this nonsense in any way they can, including posting on here.
