People can be very judgemental about attributes or behaviours in others, when they themselves also have these attributes or behaviours. They might be oblivious of their own attributes or behaviours. They can be in denial about themselves, or uncomfortable and wish to suppress that aspect of themselves.
A teenage girl discovering that she is not like her peers, and uninterested in or revolted by boys...perhaps her parents disparage lesbianism...gets the idea that she must therefore be trans...embraces the trans ideology - which enables her to escape from the expectations around her, and also from accepting that she is a lesbian. An example of internalised homophobia in a homosexual girl.
