Keep Prisons Single Sex protest at the Ministry of Justice tomorrow

Hi everyone!

Here's a last minute heads up about our demonstration tomorrow at the Ministry of Justice. I'll be speaking as an ex inmate and women's rights campaigner about the differences between the male and female prison populations and why it's obviously a terrible idea for men to be housed with women.

Seems ridiculous that we should need to spell out the reasons but here we are, doing just that.

If ya can make it, please do. I rarely venture to London cause I find it alarmingly massive so come on over, say hi and help us make a scene!

It's on Saturday because we're hoping for a good turn out of protestors and we'd get hauled off site on a weekday.

Gotta say though, I would much prefer yelling at a load of baffled MoJ interns peering through windows and hastily rewriting legal applications.

I was at the protest and spoke to you briefly. Your speech was amazing.

I think problem with numbers is that there is now so much going on in the feminist fight against gender ideology generally. There was another that evening in London (Adult Human Female film) and i saw there were other events around the country yesterday as well as a big one in Dublin. The Sarah Philimore book launch is soon. This is in addition to the many women's rights network & AHF groups now around the country meeting locally. On the WhatsApp groups I am in, women had to make choices about where they go and how they expend their energy, time and money.

What I am trying to say is don't be disheartened by the turn out. There is a lot happening even if it's not specifically in the area of prisons.
