I saw this Barbie advert on a Smyths Toys fb Post and thought how great that they show a boy playing with it. How much better than the ELC days of a pink section of 'girl' toys. Giving children the freedom to pick toys that interest them without believing the nonsense that they are in the wrong body. Hope to see much more of this.

It is good to see a boy playing with dolls and a doll house, but the boy is playing with a pink house-set of anorexic Kardashian dolls.
Not progressive at all.

There is an old saying "don't let the perfect be the enemy of the good".
Which in this case means that just because the "girls" toy is crap, doesn't mean it isn't good that an advert shows a boy playing with it.

No, that's a boy playing with dolls promoting anorexic bodies, large boobs, legs half a metre longer than the normal human body. Way to turn a boy into an incel

I find Barbies look pretty wholesome these days, tbh. It's the porn star dolls that make me crazy.

That's my feeling. I don't think we're going to see the end of barbie dolls but it's a step in the right direction. 8 remember my now 18 year old daughter having these dolls but she was more interested in plushy animals. Her younger brother played with them more al9ng with his Ben10 figures, but even at 4 he was playfully mocked by adults for playing "girlie games". He's now a well rounded (not just mum biased!) 16 year old who shows respect to women.
