A new John Lewis ad has been posted on twitter. I hope it is a spoof, but these days it's difficult to tell.

Spoof

Now I've had coffee, yes spoof. But nicely done.

🤣 Good spoof

ResisterRex · 10/11/2022 05:59

It's fantastic 😂

Spoof. Real one is on the app now.

CheeseIsMyPatronus · 10/11/2022 09:26

I think the real one is lovely.

Birdsweepsin · 10/11/2022 10:00

Agreed. Someone on LBC said , its about the power of kindness, about creating a happier world. "Its what you do that matters"

I know they just want to shift merchandise, but it has made me feel much warmer towards John Lewis. Which, given my stony heart, is not easy.

This is the real new add being talked about by the people involved
WinterTrees · 10/11/2022 11:05

I agree the JL one is a big improvement on their recent advertising offerings.

Boots have pissed me off this year. The self-effacing people pleaser from It's A Sin gives a £350 hairdryer to a lad with short hair and a penchant for drag. Waste of money.

ReunitedThorns · 10/11/2022 11:32

A deliberate spoof to highlight a real issue (that of the JL changing rooms).

Igmum · 10/11/2022 18:50

I loved the real one. I always cry at soppy Christmas ads and think this highlights a really important cause.

I liked bits of their alternative ad but it didn't really work for me
(though I did love the kitten). Sorry can't figure out how to add a link to it
