Also in the Telegraph but possibly from a different angle?

www.telegraph.co.uk/politics/2022/11/03/online-safety-bill-rewritten-amid-fears-nicola-sturgeon-could/

"Michelle Donelan, the Culture Secretary, is holding a series of meetings with free speech groups to hear their concerns about the Billl_.
She has been warned that as it stands, provisions in the Bill would lead to Scotland’s First Minister becoming “content moderator for the whole of the UK”."

Anyone now thinking of that bit in the order of the phoenix of the dinky woman in pink watching all the notices being put up?

That's good news if it happens.

Thanks for sharing, that is good news.

I see Mumsnet is named as part of the 'press', now!

'There is no ‘us’ and ‘them’ in print and digital: we are becoming them. And here’s the thing: press freedom means freedom for everyone. The ‘press’, now, is made up of long-established publications, individual bloggers, lone academics, Mumsnet, Guido, Novara, the Blasmaster – a rightly rowdy and unruly bunch.'

We have a duty to address the harms to women and girls

It's great that the phrase "women and girls" is repeated so often, along with the abuse they face and the protection they need, but I wish they would make it clear the vast majority of the perpetrators are men. Name the problem! Abuse by men. Protection from men.

ArabellaScott · 16/05/2023 09:55

Ah, the invisible men, again. The 'M' in MVAWG often mysteriously disappears.
