Perhaps if TRAs were not so violent and abusive she would not need protection? The level of violence and threat to women saying "no" to men is the real problem here.

FlibbertyGiblets · 01/11/2022 17:53

Alison that clip of Posie with Harrop will never ever fail to make me smile. Hee hee hee.

QueenHippolyta · 01/11/2022 18:01

comebetweenus · 01/11/2022 16:24

Wouldn't it be more unifying if Posie put out a statement saying the Proud Boys aren't welcome at her events rather than posting memes?

"No I have never been a member of the Communist Party"... this is what people in Hollywood were urged to do under McCarthyism....and of course denounce your friends so you weren't tainted.

Same f*cking playbook. Only now it's the Left.

FemaleAndLearning · 01/11/2022 18:03

Posie is truly stunning and brave. I've been catching up with the USA Let Women Speak tour. No wonder she needs security. The protestors all seem to be males not men who say they are women. The protestors behave like toddlers who think they get their own way by going la la la with their fingers in their ears. The videos coming out of the states really just make the protestors look deranged and unhinged. They really do hate women.
Women will speak and people will listen. If Kelly was a child I'd say go girl but as she is an adult human female I'll say go woman!

JacquelinePot · 01/11/2022 18:34

Wynoma · 01/11/2022 17:00

This is why optics are important

Which optics? Presumably not the optics of the men surrounding and intimidating women, and even in one case breaking a woman's fingers?

comebetweenus · 01/11/2022 16:24

No, of course not!

Would you tell Christians that they're not welcome at an equal pay protest? Or right wingers that they're not allowed to donate to Battersea dogs home?

That's how bloody relevant it is.

This ideology affects everybody. Not just Right Thinking People. Or, 'people who think like me'.

Honestly. Women across the political spectrum are fearful for their children under trans activism. All of them.

Posie wants to stop that. And, she has said she will talk to anyone.

That's Talk to anyone. Not be influenced by their political viewpoint. Not suddenly change her entire belief system because of what they believe. And not starting to agree with things that she's never agreed to before.

Does anyone seriously believe that people are only using retailers, service providers, tradesmen, whose opinion they all agree with? Of course you don't!

honestly, I can't believe people are saying all this crap in the name of 'tolerance'.

Sorry comebetweenus, this isn't meant to be a go at you. But these purity spirals are explicitly designed to stop women talking. It's not to help them, it's not to provide support for them, it's to shut them down.

lechiffre55 · 01/11/2022 19:51

Really gross attempt to smear PP.
Things get better by people talking, even to people who have different views.
Its possible to agree with a person on one point and disagree on many other points. Agreeing on one single point does not automatically mean you agree with them on everything.
Daryl Davies a black jazz musician dismantled the KKK in one US state by befriending them and asking them why they didn't like black people. Over time the KKK members he spoke to came to respect Daryl and many of them left the KKK including the grand wizard of one state. Would you have posted a picture of Daryl standing next to the KKK members he was having a dialogue with and tried to smear him for talking to the KKK? Really really disgusting.
To try and guild by association is intellectually dishonest and a really dirty attempt at a smear. It says far more about the person doing the smearing than it says about the person they are trying to smear.

OhHolyJesus · 01/11/2022 19:53

If violent men didn't all rally to close it down, she'd probably be taking her kids swimming this evening.

Speaking of swimming and a tangent I realise but I've got her Female, The Real Thing swimsuit and it's the best swimsuit I've ever had. Really good quality. She's got scarves in too...

EarthSight · 01/11/2022 20:00

TERFs are increasingly turning to right-wing men to do security

Well yes, DUH, because I imagine that left-wing men in the U.S wouldn't really want to do it!!!

QueenHippolyta · 01/11/2022 20:11

Daryl Davies, I was just thinking about him @lechiffre55 and couldn't remember his name. What an example for all of us; that man is an inspiration!
we should talk to everyone

BlessedKali · 01/11/2022 21:18

I'm truly amazed at the fierce courage of the academic feminist keyboard warriors, putting in the long hours, in dangerous conditions in their own bedrooms as they type away and try to undermind KJK. Bravo to them! What wonderful work they are doing, they are definitely helping other women by their tireless smearing. I really hope they get their way and they make KJK shut up and go home and do the dishes like she ought to.

It does make you wonder who is fighting for whom here?

I WISH ALL THESE PEOPLE WOULD FIT INTO NICE LITTLE BOXES LABELLED 'LEFT' AND 'RIGHT' AND THEN WE COULD JUST HAVE GOODIES AND BADDIES AND IT COULD BE US VS THEM AND THE RIFT IN SOCIETY COULD LAST FOREVER!!!

damn these complex human beings.

AlisonDonut · 01/11/2022 21:23

They hate Posie because she says in 3 words what they spent donkey's years trying to write.

MangyInseam · 01/11/2022 21:43

You know who I think isn't a feminist? Anyone who tries to delegitimize women who don't share their political opinions.

landOFconfusion · 01/11/2022 22:12

OldGardinia · 01/11/2022 09:29

All this discussion of feminism and the Right! The Right Wing has lots of feminists. But they're all old school equal opportunity, women should carry a gun feminists. None of them are idpol/equity/3rd wave feminists.

How did that old meme go? "The bulge in a Conservative woman's pants is a gun. The bulge in a Liberal woman's pants is a penis".

The Left has always been a collectivist movement at heart. It appeals to those who depend on a group for power. That's why women tend to be Left Wing because historically women have less power individually than men (physically and financially). But it also draws in a lot of beta men (and this is born out statistically with financial and even gym usage statistics). And that includes typical AGP MtF who might be physically large and aggressive but on some psychological level fetishize being some "weak and girly" stereotype of a woman.

And it's why a lot of individually powerful / assertive women in politics gravitate to the Right. Alice Weidell, Thatcher, Georgia Melonie, Marine Le Pen. Sure, the Left has a lot of women in the ranks, but how many female leaders has the Labour or Liberal Democrat parties have compared to the Tories?

I neither expect nor want everyone to agree with me on this, but I'd say that in a significant way the Right is more feminist than the Left, because the Right tends to give less of a stuff about someone's sex. That's bad for equity based feminism, good for meritocratic feminism. But either way, there's "feminism" on the Right. It's just not what modern academics and the media recognize as "feminism" anymore which is all about enshrining sex as a group identity. The Right regards feminism as not hindering someone's rights because of their sex.

In the light of that last point, I think it's clear why on the issue of GC, the Right is appearing a lot more "feminist" than the Left.

I started laughing when - entirely without irony - you claimed that left wing movements attract “beta men”.

Right wing movements have historically been strongly associated with disaffected men who are failing in life. Those failing men are eager to latch on to false conservative narratives about men losing their traditional roles and status … because it explains away all of their personal failures as the consequence of outside forces.

You only have to look at Posie Parker’s posse to observe this. She is not surrounded by successful men - they are cosplayers who are LARPing as bodyguards. They are relishing the symbolic power of their openly carried guns and ‘tacticool’ clothing because they have no status or power of their own. It would be funny if it wasn’t so pathetic.

AreWeTheBaddies · 01/11/2022 22:31

make KJK shut up and go home and do the dishes like she ought to.

You are confused. It's the men she has surrounding her who want her to conform to gender stereotypes, not the feminists criticising her

Crikey, that hit a nerve

BlessedKali · 01/11/2022 22:51

She is standing on the street, in a hostile situation, with aggressive men baying at her, in a country where the civilians can be armed, after Chapelle & Rushdie attacks and general 'left' extremism....

HOW can anyone be criticising her ffs??

Can you for one second imagine how it must feel for her to get up in the morning, and go out to one of these events, knowing full well she might be attacked or shot?? Can you put yourself in her shoes for one second? Or Is it better that she is attacked and remains 'pure'?

I was a little nervous walking into the FILIA event, not knowing if there might be a protest outside. I fleetingly wondered to myself 'imagine if I got stabbed by a nutter?' because there is alot of violent 'anti-terf' propaganda circulating, it didn't seem inpossible. As I walked back to my hotel in the evenings with my suffragette coloured umbrella I kept alert.

I am much bigger than Posie, and I am by bo means a meek woman. Im a pretty mouthy, 'common' woman, if you will. Im not scared and can hold my own... But I cna gand on heart say I would not have the guts to do what she is doing. She has the courage of a warrioress. I do not blame her for doing whatever it takes to put her physical safety first.

And anyeone that can only find space to 'criticise'.... I would say YOU are the one sending her back to the dishes. Or to the grave. Shame on you.

Listening to a Trigonometry episode about Incels, researchers found that Incels were more likely to be left-wing because they believe everything should be shared, or have equal access to, and the target of that is the female body and sexual intercourse.

Incels aren't keen on the successful high earners, because that's what they're not.

No. We are criticising her for setting all of this up. It is not helping to raise awareness about women in prison or vulnerable children. It is feeding the TRAs lots of ammo to use against actual feminists.

She could have done a great tour. She has not.

Ohai, sorry to butt in. Who is the 'we' in this most recent post of yours, it isn't clear. Thank you.

Hugocat1 · 01/11/2022 23:05

I’m late to the thread so not sure if this has been mentioned.

today I’ve seen a picture of Julie Bindel with Peter Tatchelll and seen that apparently she is sharing a stage with known antisemites soon. You can’t really sling shit at Rosie when your doing this yourself. Plus the lies about ‘children being maced’ were embarrassing.

I watched a couple of videos of the tour and those TRA are bloody threatening/aggressive. The men that are helping are probably the only guys willing to do security there.

some women are obsessed with Posie and it just boils down to jealousy it really does

ReunitedThorns · 01/11/2022 23:07

@AreWeTheBaddies Has done a bad job thinking that KJK is a figurehead for the entire movement and that one criticism of her will suddenly eliminate the whole pushback on trans activists' demands.

Essentially the activism is limited in audience as it's only targeted at people reading this one thread.

As opposed to all the other posts on this thread which clearly aren't touchy about the close association with extreme far right ideology in any way.
