Eventbrite removes tickets for Sarah Phillimore's book launch

Tickets for an event on 2 December to launch Sarah Phillimore's new book had been sold on Eventbrite but Eventbrite later decided that the event violates their policy on Hateful, Dangerous, or Violent Content and Events, so Eventbrite unpublished the event and refunded the ticketholders.

Very disappointing of EventBrite - especially after they were involved with Helen Joyce's event on Tuesday at Gonville and Caius College in Cambridge, with no apparent problem.

They also sold tickets for the LGB Alliance conference.

I think that as there is more breakthrough on these issues there will be greater pushback by those people/orgs that haven experienced it before now due to “no debate”. So in my opinion this is the thrashing death throes as they try to retain control.
