Mum takes 14 yr old to Poland for top surgery

It seems as though a market has developed for 'gender affirming' surgeries in Poland being offered at very low prices.
To make such life chaging decisions about your child's healthy body, paying for and enabling it I can't understand.

I don't know. Sounds fake. The brain scan in particular- ok the neuroscience studies looking for sex differences and trans-related differences in the brain exist but they're neither very convincing nor part of any diagnostic pathway I know of. I'm pretty sure this is fake.

BTW also as far as I know cosmetic mastectomy for breast dysphoria is not as extensive as radical mastectomy for cancer so will leave far more structures intact - longterm complications ought to be minimal.

Clymene · 22/10/2022 10:39

I've just watched a video from a Polish clinic saying that they usually perform mastectomies on adult women but new techniques mean they can perform them on adolescents once the breast tissue has stopped growing as that gives superior results.

Presumably as her daughter is already taking T, her breasts won't develop further.

What kind of sick fuck gives their 12 year old cross sex hormones? Confused

They say they're in Scotland and on the GIDS waiting list in Glasgow

Well I can’t see the current Scottish government engaging any reasonable
thought process on any of this.

So there’s one answer to how such huge safeguarding failures happen.

This stuff is going to be scandalous documentary fodder in the future. Possibly the stuff of history exam modules - ‘oh we’ve finished COVID; we’re doing gender crap this term’. I can see A-level history exams in the future where the candidates write 3 essays: 1. brexit - or why David Cameron was an idiot 🤣, 2. COVID - and the effects of respected mass lockdowns, 3. Gender wars - and how people in the early part of the century were applauding the mutilation of children.

Clymene · 22/10/2022 10:41

This is the video I watched sexreassignmentsurgery.eu/srs/ftm/top-surgery-mastectomy/

( I had to turn it off as it showed amputation of healthy breasts). They perform radical mastectomies and remove all the breast structures and glands so that their patients can develop muscles and a male physique.

Clymene · 22/10/2022 10:29

I would really not be surprised if this were true. Massively catholic countries like Malta and Poland are anti abortion and homophobic. Malta is massively on the trans train.

See also Iran. Much better to have enormous amounts of medical intervention than admit that homosexuality is just totally normal. 🙄

FrancescaContini · 22/10/2022 10:42

@Clymene your first paragraph has chilled me to the core. What kind of sick fuck gets an idea in his or her head to see if the technology can be used on adolescent children, and actually tries it out??

Smilelesstalkmore · 22/10/2022 10:49

Is this going to be like the new Turkey Teeth, except is 14 year old girls having double mastectomies?

I agree that this needs to be treated in the same way as FGM.

Alcemeg · 22/10/2022 10:50

This Polish clinic offers sex reassignment surgery with the slogan "We help bring out the beauty in you"

I'm no longer surprised about stories like this having read about Sidhbh Gallagher in the US. She has operated on 13 and 14 year old girls.

Ugh that awful ghoul with the manic eyes and the stick on smile .

Someone called her Scythe Gallagher on craicnet I think. Bring on the lawsuits.

orangeisthenewpuce · 22/10/2022 11:05

'I'm happy to say I have been instrumental in allowing my young daughter to have a double mastectomy so I can brag about it on social media. I truly am a shit parent' is what that should say

MountainWitch · 22/10/2022 11:22

nursingchair · 22/10/2022 09:02

(NC) I was recently made aware of a child who's mother was planning to take her abroad for a mastectomy. I believe ss were alerted. Don't know what happened thereafter. However they were 15, Scotland. Scotland has had school half terms in the last couple of weeks.

This is so chilling, and feels rather too close to home (I work in a school, full gender shite compliant)
Terrifying.

Haudyourwheesht · 22/10/2022 11:28

They say they're in Scotland and on the GIDS waiting list in Glasgow

Ah, Glasgow. Shocker.

PurgatoryOfPotholes · 22/10/2022 11:29

Women having mastectomies for cancer have a 20-30% chance of long-term Post-Mastectomy Pain Syndrome. I learnt this from a detransitioner, who guess what, suffers from Post-Mastectomy Pain Syndrome. In her experience, she thinks that the figures are higher amongst female people who have/had mastectomies as part of surgical treatment of gender dysphoria.

Agree that it’s the “new” FGM, albeit taking place in plain sight via SM with smiley faces, rainbows and balloons - which makes it all the more grotesque. Presumably these double mastectomies take place in operating theatres using sterile equipment etc, but otherwise: yes, it’s akin to FGM and schools and SS should be all over it.

I hadn’t even thought of its equivalence to FGN. You’re not wrong are you?!!

WarriorN · 22/10/2022 12:09

purgatory, I'm not surprised it could be higher as your muscles are still building

WarriorN · 22/10/2022 12:13

So this was a half term trip.

We are advised to be on the look out for fgm linked to foreign holidays, girls not returning after the hols etc.

PurplRainDancer · 22/10/2022 12:14

Child abuse, she should go to prison.

nursingchair · 22/10/2022 12:16

This may be fake, we won't know.

But I do know of a mother who has been planning this for her 15 yr old. Also Scotland. We don't know what's happened yet.

This scenario needs safeguarding guidance to be in place before it happens.

That's the point of safeguarding.

StapFooterin · 22/10/2022 12:21

FOURTEEN?? Butchering a girl's developing body at 14? Honestly, I have no words left.

Sunflower987 · 22/10/2022 12:24

Is it even legal to do that?

WarriorN · 22/10/2022 12:33

I don't think there's actually a law about it yet?

jay55 · 22/10/2022 15:32

I had huge boobs at 11 and was frequently assaulted because of them. I'd totally have taken myself off to get them removed if I could have at 14.

KittenKong · 22/10/2022 17:38

WarriorN · 22/10/2022 12:33

I don't think there's actually a law about it yet?

There is about FMG. If you work with kids you are obliged to report if a girl is suspected at risk of being whisked abroad to be married off or having genital mutilation/breast ironing. How is this different?.’

ToadSmall · 22/10/2022 17:44

I've been in two OFSTED's in the last two years and in both of them we were grilled about FGM.

Had we done Prevent training, what should we be looking for, which countries should we be listening out for when children are talking about their holidays?

In one of the schools I'd be surprised if any of the children had a passport.

canyouextrapol · 22/10/2022 20:28

Haudyourwheesht · 22/10/2022 08:19

The school I work in would probably do a flag waving school trip to one of the Polish clinics.

And mine :(
