There will be a "schism" in environmental politics, it seems:

Maybe the UK greens might become sane again. This might be a good thing.

Blister · 18/10/2022 06:26

Phew! Hurry it up. We're in desperate need of sanity in any political party.

waterwitch · 18/10/2022 06:29

So we have complex global environmental problems which represent existential threats to humanity…… but the Scottish Greens can’t find a way to work across boarders because of hurty feelings 🙄

waterwitch · 18/10/2022 06:30

If it did release the Greens in England and Wales that would be fantastic
🤞more in hope than optimism

”His motion also said office-bearers in the Greens had “insulted” the Scottish Greens, claiming their disciplinary action had been “lethargic, ineffective and inconsistent”.”

So rather than addressing their own faults, they have hit out at those pointing them out.

’The Scottish Greens’ accusations of transphobia follow co-leader Patrick Harvie’s call this year for the expulsion of Shahrar Ali from the party after the candidate for the deputy leadership of the Greens, who came third in the election, was compared to Boris Johnson, Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin on the issue of trans rights.’
’In February the Scottish Greens criticised the opinion of Emma Bateman, the co-chair of Green Party Women, who was suspended in February for her opinion that “humans can’t change sex”.’

They really are sounding increasingly insane with their hyperbolic comparisons and their denial of statements of fact that are so unarguably true that only someone who has lost sight of reality would try to argue otherwise. I guess, when your views are so extreme and you really have nowhere else to go without conceding you might have made an error, this is where you end up.

They're just following Mermaid's lead there, Pri0n1!

Probably use the same publicity people to be honest…

RealFeminist · 18/10/2022 07:40

INEPENDENT SCOTTISH GREENS ALONG WITHTHE SNP WILL BREAK AWAY FROM CLIMATE CHANGE AND FIGHT FUR OOR OWN INDEPENDENT ECOSYSTEM

JellySaurus · 18/10/2022 07:45

Perhaps Sturgeon, the Fingertip Feminist, is in fact a Closet Green.

Independent ecosystem!

CatNamedEaster · 18/10/2022 08:08

It's so unbelievable that at a time the Greens should be flying and could have

CatNamedEaster · 18/10/2022 08:11

Could have had double digits MPs with actual influence and voting power on climate policy, they've come to this. Makes we feel very pessimistic for our future when a women's party works against women and a green party backs away from climate change.

Hoardasurass · 18/10/2022 08:32

I love how the Scottish greens are accusing other people of homophobia when the Scottish Green Party believes that any male who claims to be a lesbian is 1 and to state otherwise is transphobic hate 🙄

Kellie45 · 18/10/2022 08:48

All part of the funny farm north of the border

Treaclemine · 18/10/2022 10:48

It makes green sense. Reduce the number of workable wombs and men women want to sleep with - hey presto, population reduction!

Beowulfa · 18/10/2022 10:52

I'd love to be able to vote Green again.
