"We have been re-accredited as an ‘A status’ National Human Rights Institution, following a routine re-accreditation process with @ Ganhri1.

We are delighted that our vital work in defending human rights has been recognised internationally again.

I understand and see the point you are making @ArabellaScott - scrap the pretence and let everyone see and judge on that basis and that basis alone.

They make death threats, throw piss around and call people evil.
The EHRC quietly puts out a statement of fact.

The adults are in the room. It makes me smile.

Shakenotslurred · 16/10/2022 16:09

Aah I’m sorry @ArabellaScott i misunderstood, I get you now

ArabellaScott · 16/10/2022 17:12

No problem. And yes, Vest, exactly.

The EA as currently being implemented has neutralised 'sex' as a protected characteristic. Because 'gender reassignment' is being treated as more important in a hierarchy of needs, it effectively has removed protections on the basis of sex.

That should be very clear.

@ArabellaScott unfortunately when it comes to the Scottish government they will lie, manipulate and lie some more.
They claim that having a GRC makes zero difference yet we know that if you are a biological male with a GRC in Scotland you will be automatically placed in a women's jail and as per the equal representation Bill the single sex exemption will not apply to you as the Scottish government has chosen to redefine the word woman in law even though they lost a law case about the definition of women and are now still refusing to accept that the only legal definition of women in law is female of any age

I see lots of "transpeople are losing rights" type of thing on that Twatter thread but yet again not one of them has offered up an explanation of what rights. One did say the right to exist but didn't expand on this.

The only way I know of removing someone’s right to exist is by killing them. That was done to 177 women in the UK in the year to March 2021. No trans people were murdered here that year, and I think you have to go back several years to find one.

Anyone worried about women’s right to exist?
