This is good to see.

'major intervention' that 'vindicates concerns', according to Murray Blackburn Mackenzie:

twitter.com/mbmpolicy/status/1577653267508740096

'It shares our view that the reforms will make GRCs available to a larger and wider range of people than now. It believes that this has implications for the operation of the Equality Act.'

'Critically, it believes "there are implications for the operation of the Equality Act 2010 whether or not the UK Government elects to recognise Scottish GRCs'

This sentence particularly informative:

'enabling employers and service providers to navigate these issues will required detailed guidance, and would need to draw on case law that does not yet exist'.

This fees important:

"we note that the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child defines anyone under 18 as a child"

I think this is really heartening. We need the EHRC to step up and get involved. This is their whole purpose!

Also noting:

'The wider public debate on sex and gender-based rights continues to evolve, not least as key concepts are tested in court, and we will contribute to a respectful and constructive debate on issues that continue to opinion.
We stand ready to work productively with both the UK and Scottish Governments on our many shared goals to make Britain fairer.'
