I think a lot of them are very young, they've been told this kind of thing is progressive, and it's about valuing women and girls. They're not capable of much critical thinking.

I think that like many others Dylan is leveraging cognitive dissonance. You can’t not notice the crazy eyes. But if you’re young and you’ve been BeKinded out of your self preservation instincts, the doubts only make you double down on the how good and pure and lovely he is.
