To think I was actually a member of this party at one point. Pathetic.

So was I, when it was concerned with cycle to work schemes, recycling initiatives and protesting new power stations.

Quite. The Rainbow Warrior was a ship, not a fucking manifesto.

It must be really disheartening for all members, activists and voters who still want environmental issues prioritised but no longer have a party focused on those issues.

Perhaps the lack of effective democratic representation on climate issues is a contributing factor to
the recent dramatic public protest interventions?

I think voting turnout is quite low.

It’s doubling down, isn’t it? Because the alternative is admitting they were wrong and that would never do, what with them “being on the right side of history” and all.

Glad they have nothing better to do with their time.

Honestly, I absolutely despair at the state of society.

yes, less than 5% ? And the Supreme Body ( Conferences ) attracts less than 1000 self-appointed and therefore unaccountable members out of 60000. Plenary sessions, such as the one which adopted the "Transwomen are women..." policy in 2016 and the Drag Queens Story Time at this last Autumn 2022 Conference in Harrogate rarely get more than 300 members. If there has been a call to check for quoracy at those sessions, such late motions would have probably just fallen off the agenda. The Green Party is a sect, not a democratic political party and its "radicalisation " by identity politics ideologues is now complete.
