Interesting (and depressing) isn't it how nobody goes after Ricky Gervais for his GC views, but God help any woman who speaks out?

he openly mocks TW and is treated as 'a bit of a wind-up merchant'. JKR occasionally expresses concern about safeguards for women and is a pariah in many eyes. I can't think what the difference might be...

I don't think this is misogyny. Ricky Gervais has been vocal about controversial things forever and has made it very clear that he does not care what you think about his opinions.

I think people don't even bother trying to cancel him because his audience like him exactly for these kind of views and he doesn't care.

I think he’s highly intelligent and knows exactly what he’s doing. The great thing about his TWAW sketch is that he didn’t make a single ‘joke’ - merely repeated what the TRAs say word for word, in a way that makes them look utterly ridiculous.

If a small child or an alien from outer space asked you what a woman was, would this answer help them understand? No.

If it makes sense to anyone, it's because they already know what a woman actually is. Which we all do, every one of us. Because long ago, someone else explained it to us properly. Adult human female.

I’m not. He’s talked lovingly and respectfully about his intelligent, successful, long term partner for years. He knows what a real woman is. And gets vexed and defensive about this alternative narrative. As do most sane people.
