Billboard Chris has tweeted about these. Below is a link to the first tweet in the thread. There are four in all, all very short. The people in the videos are all role-playing, and the whole thing was recorded for staff training purposes.
The scenario is that a teenager called Jacob who is already in therapy and having treatment at Boston Children's Hospital for an eating disorder discloses to a nurse 'I identify as a girl and at school all my friends call me Amanda, but my Mom really can't cope with this'. The nurse and two other HCPs immediately switch to calling Jacob Amanda and using she/her pronouns when talking to each other and to their patient, but they switch back to Jacob and he/him when the mother arrives. They then take her off to a private room and tell her that in light of her child's disclosure they must now call the patient Amanda and she/her and they have told the child's therapist, who is already aware of this. The mother is effectively ganged up on and told she really has to fall in line, as otherwise she will hinder her child's recovery. They basically tell her that the child must now be seen by gender specialists.
If this were a real case, the mother would have to be a very strong person to hold out against cross-hormones being prescribed, I suspect. I found this very troubling. No challenge to the child's view at all! Is this high quality CPD in a world-class children's hospital?
