NEU withdraws positive review of sex ed book by Transgender Trend

The NEU published a positive review of Transgender Trend's book 'Sex and Gender', calling it 'a fantastic resource':

Oops, I'm going to have to resign from my retired NUT status. And work out what to do with my once valued official officer's NUT badge.
I see part-way down that twitter a screen shot of stickers produced by TT which are seen as offensive and transphobic. Not one of which statements seems to me to be anything of the sort.

"No child is born in the wrong body"
"Medical sex change treatment for children is an experiment"
"70% of referrals to UK gender clinic last year were girls"
"It's OK for boys to play with dolls and girls to play with trucks"
"Children have a right to privacu from the opposite sex"
"Kids shouldn't be taught in school that they can choose to be a boy or a girl"

But then I haven't been taught, still, to follow Stonewall as a suitable source for information on the issue - which is also tweeted in that thread.

They thought the book was great until they found out who wrote and published it.

I'm embarrassed for them.

Please say these idiots are not working teachers.

What a bunch of spineless tools

Pathetic - but yet so very indicative of this whole crap. The truth isn’t important. What’s ‘important’ is who’s saying it. The ‘right people’ can say any old rubbish, but the ‘wrong people’ will be criticised whatever they say.

JKR is a good example of this, where everything she says is perceived as transphobic not because of the content of her comments, but because she ‘a known transphobe’ 🙄

It would be funny if the NEU had made a mistake and had to flip-flop back to praise again.

Oh what a shambles. NEU, like many other unions, seems to have been taken over by mad trans activists.

So it is democratic and passed a motion at conference which established the prinicples which this book breaks.
My friend says I mustn't get rid of my badge as it represented something to be proud of then. (And it says NUT on it.)
The union which voted for, and campaigned for equal pay for women, despite opposition from a cadre of men who left and founded the National Association of Schoolmasters in protest. (Now forced by law not to be single sex and combined with the Union of Women Teachers to form NASUWT. They hated it when that happened. The men, that is.)

I watched ‘Do Revenge’ with my older Dds and we all had a laugh at this bit with the male baddy.
Many young people are getting fed up of this ideology and there is nothing more off putting than right-on teachers.
