Why are certain newspapers still getting away with this kind of 1970s approach to women wearing clothes?

One of my absolute pet hates is when they say a celeb (always female, natch) has "put on a leggy display" 😤 which roughly translates to "phwoar! Look here lads, she's got LEGS [rubs thighs furiously]"

I have to say, I read it more as fashion-type reporting which likes to talk about things like showing knees, or not, to indicate the up-coming trends.

It's the verbs like "flaunts" which are so ridiculous. It's a weird world where "woman wears clothes" is a headline.🙄

Daily Mail celebs have 'endless pins'.

Was she also flaunting her assets?

Showing off her trademark tresses?

Showcasing her enviable curves?

It's awful reporting.(and not even a mini). However I'm inclined to cut The Mail a wee bit of slack after this. No other paper took this on.

That has to be the most frumpy Oxfam shop skirt I have ever seen Kate Moss wear and yet she's flashing her legs? I was at least expecting an Angelina Jolie substantial side split.
