www.theguardian.com/world/2022/sep/08/trans-gaelic-footballer-giulia-valentino-leave-legacy-inclusion

It contains the usual "I'm just a poor weak thing now I'm on wrong-sex hormones". (I'm surprised it didn't include the trope of "Now I'm a woman I can't open jars any more!")

Also has no photographs due to 'harassment' - so no chance for readers unfamiliar with the story to see that picture of this person closing in on the young girl holding the football and to think "golly, isn't that a man?"

It really is a case of a picture being worth a thousand words, so I'm not surprised they didn't use one, the gaslighting cowards.

I'm guessing this guy's vanity also didn't want them to show off his receding hairline.

Sadly, I would have loved this story to have peaked people in Ireland, but it's still very much 'nothing to see here'...

"The Guardian agreed not to publish this or any photograph that identified Valentino, who has been harassed. “Safety is a privilege that doesn’t belong to trans people,” she said."

So Valentino is so frightened that they don't want their (widely available) photo to be published, but not so frightened that they're unwilling to have an article about them published in a national newspaper. Yes, makes sense.

This isn’t Valentino’s first rodeo.

Here’s another picture featuring balls.

And quite vocal about being a Queer and transfeminist woman dreaming of post-gender society where patriarchy and binarism will be only bad memories.

The self importance of this guy is nauseating...and sporting publications should be well aware of the physical advantages men have over women in sports. Shame on them for giving airtime to this guy's vanity project.

A balanced article would have asked the opposing teams what they thought.
And I would have said the majority of feedback on twitter wasn't abuse or hate directed at the trans player, it was just anger at the unfairness, or wanting to protect underage girls.

Just so . Most people either don't know or don't care that he worked in a BDSM club. It's just that, if he wants to act out a fetish , it should not disrupt Women's Gaelic Football.

This must stop before someone is seriously injured. That is all.

A very manly pose in that rugby photo! Was the move to football due to new rules in rugby? So wrong for the women and girls playing against him.

And was the move to Ireland because the English have woken up to this nonsense? Terf Island too hot for Giulia.
