We had a poster here called LangCleg who is a safeguarding expert. She went above and beyond to explain how safeguarding works.
She explained that predators, any kind of predators, will always try to find a loophole.
Priests, TV celebrities, scoutmasters, etc, none of these are inherently predatory. What they are is beyond suspicion. As soon as you place a group of people beyond suspicion, especially if they have access to children or vulnerable people, you have created a loophole. Predators everywhere will flock to the group, in order to exploit the loophole.
Hence the number of priests who are paedophiles, TV celebrities who are predators, etc.
When you are violently campaigning for a set of males (99% of all sex crimes are committed by males), to have unfettered access to incarcerated women, women and children in a state of undress, rape survivors in a rape refuge, or women immobile in a hospital ward, you are going out of your way to create a loophole so big, you could see it from space.
If that section of society does not want to attract paedophiles, and doesn't want people like Posie Parker to call it out, then you know what they can do?
Close the loophole.
(Not pour their own piss on themselves outside the EHRC to try and convince them to open the loophole even further. Or persuade Barclays Bank to start an advertising campaign for them to buy themselves 'big tits'.)
LangCleg did not, and does not, waver in her commitment to protect children.
