i really don’t have the words

I’m pretty much just 😳

what are we doing to our females

what have we done to them….looks like weve pretty much suceeded in whatever we were trying to do

my 20 year old dd is coming out of the other side of this….ive not pushed it because out of the 3 of my children she was the most ‘be kind, no discussion’ one (not in a mean way…just got upset when i corrected gender to sex etc) so i think i can probably show her this now

I think it would be more interesting if he hadn't worn the wig and bra.

It is a bit like watching a Sacha Baron Cohen video where people are too polite to point out the obvious

ZeldaFighter · 01/09/2022 09:23

But what is actually happening here? Is the person a properly registered transgender team member? Because if so, there is probably nothing anyone can do.

NecessaryScene · 01/09/2022 09:25

Is the person a properly registered transgender team member?

Which would mean what? A "man who says he wants to play on the women's team"?

NotBadConsidering · 01/09/2022 09:27

But the key is the socialisation of the young people to just ignore what they see with their own eyes and accept it without question, joyfully. It’s like Nineteen Eighty Four when Winston cries tears of joy at the end after finally accepting his place.

It's the way the girls treat him that's really terrifying.

ZeldaFighter · 01/09/2022 09:45

This just doesn't make sense. Where is the team manager? Where are the match officials? Is this person on the team sheet?

While I completely take the point about mtf participation, there are bigger issues here. Where is the security for people to walk in off the street and play? What if he had a gun and sinister intent?

This video is not the whole truth.

ZeldaFighter · 01/09/2022 09:47

If the person is a properly registered transgender players, then the rules need changing. But this player would not qualify anyway because of testosterone. I appreciate the point they're making but there are other bigger issues here.

He needs to work on his head tilt, he is in danger of being rumbled

Igmum · 01/09/2022 09:58

This is awful. The TW is so much taller and so much stronger. The girls are so deferential. I'm so sorry for any Californian girl who is good at sport right now.

They know he's male, and they are acting like many teen girls do around good looking sportsmen - seeking out his attention and approval. If he had been a new female on the team, they would have behaved differently towards her.

He isn't a TW. He’s purposely set it up to point out the obvious!

Very few sports have actually implemented testosterone rules, and as far as I know basketball isn’t one of them, particularly at community level.

There aren’t any testosterone rules in many high school sports leagues (and it would arguably be medically unethical to push minors into taking medication, and most high school kids aren’t old enough to have lowered levels for 3 years.) In many leagues/districts, if you identify as a girl/woman you can play with the team that fits your identity. That was the case with those two track athletes: they had no medical transition at all.

How are we bringing our girls that they are so deferential to males 😭
