Don't think I've seen a thread about this good practice guide from Mental Welfare Commission on LGBT inclusive services. Page 11 will be of interest in particular.

I noted the bit near the end which says it's the duty of public bodies such as the NHS to foster good relations between different groups covered by the Equality Act - I can't see how ignoring women's views on their erasure from medical language around female related illnesses, child-bearing etc, and their opinions on the necessity for single sex spaces in favour of those of trans women fulfils this duty.

P6 intersex paragraph seems all kinds of wrong.

Oh dear! I’m all for Jessica without inverted commas to have the best treatment that can be afforded. However, I wish any other patient of female sex who might be as unwell as the aforementioned trans gender patient, could be reassured her needs would be equally respected. Oh wait, there might be some difficulty as she cannot refer to reality as she sees it, but Jessica can. Why would that be? Patriarchy is a gender ideology ally.

Ah the good old assigned at birth trope.

You cannot identify as intersex ffs.

The whole thing is the typical Stonewall rhetoric being parroted.

It's lovely that inclusive services are being considered. Great.

Now can we work on equal inclusiveness and depth of understanding/ accommodation for all the other 8 characteristics please? Since inclusion is about 9 characteristics, not just one.
