Manchester Pride using ‘God hates TERFS’ in the style of Westbro Church slogans

I don’t even know where to start with these pictures, the slogans and the fact that Westbro Church has tweeted in support.

Whilst the pics are on an open and blue tick Twitter account, I will say that close ups of at least one of the pictures may not be safe for work.

“The city is gearing up for Manchester Pride – just one week to go!! 🏳️‍🌈 See what's on”

“Westbro Church itself has come out in support of your slogans!”

“Using perhaps the most homophobic movement of the last 50 years to promote Pride isn't the best of looks, but perfectly apt”

The original tweet has been ratio’d, but I agree that this representation of LGBT is why so many people agree that LGB should be without the T. This is not Pride.

It’s a religion, now.

Good article discusses it

I knew that would be by Helen Lewis before I opened it! Thanks for the link.

Man Pride.

😂
Underrated post!

(I also enjoyed the dog/ball combo)

The lack of self reflection is stunning & surely indicative of something....

This seems the perfect place to share Dr Devin Jane Buckley’s writing on “Trans-substantiation: The Metaphysics of Gender Ideology”…

The Atlantic article is great, but definitely loses impact by the craven use of “Repent” when the actual sentence was “Repent, motherfucker.”

That 'off' has been added by Moley. The original is just piss in the writing of KISS. Like that is interesting to anyone who has even a fluttering of an adult though, why? The addition of 'off' works better.

It's to make people aware of their hobby, they're into Weatherspoons piss dungeons and that kind of thing.

Weatherspoons piss dungeons 😂

Love this article, thanks for sharing. Points out some of the many illogicalities. I like this quote: "It seems that by insisting on gender ‘affirmation’ through hormones and/or surgeries, one belies a belief that gender is not merely a heavenly substance but is defined in some way by material attributes like sexual organs—but now we are hovering on the edge of the TERF heresy."

Holy trinity, I'm intrigued

Imagine believing that God is on your side and hates your enemies, and simultaneously believing that you were “born in the wrong body.”

The overweening self-regard and the lachrymose self-pity just hanging out there on full display for everyone to see now. People are getting over their shit so, so fast and they just can’t help but accelerate the process. Good.

NitroNine · 23/08/2022 09:03

@krowpeed

It’s so clearly-written & thought-provoking. But as the author says herself, effectively heretical in the present day…

It's becoming more n more apparent that trans people are really just people with really terrible fashion sense

I've been thinking this for a while. I'm no fashion icon, but many of their clothes choices are just awful, badly put together. My guess is that women's clothes are cut for the female frame...which they just don't have.

RoobarbandCustud · 27/08/2022 14:11

I've been going to Manchester Pride since it was born as an LBG person. I won't go now.
