I've concluded that most of these people aren't interested in furthering the rights of anybody, not even themselves. They just want to stick it to women. Calling them names on Twitter, while hunched over a laptop in their pyjamas, is the easiest way to do it.
Judy Murray has encountered rank sexism over and over. This new take won't exactly be novel. What it might do, though, is get more and more of it into the public eye, and onto the front pages. The Murrays are national treasures. And very tough. And this sort desperate reaction will only strengthen her resolve.
If Judy does get to read this, thank you so much. Just because you're used to misogynistic tossers, it doesn't mean you want to encourage a pile on from them.
It's very brave. And, just know, that this side of history is getting increasingly more crowded.
