Please can anyone point me in the direction of guidance for providers of residential activities for young people (in this case aged 14-18) which shows that they should be offering single sex not single gender accommodation as a safeguarding consideration?

There isn't any that general. Can you be more specific?

Yes, Suella Braverman, the attorney general, has been quite clear about how it could be indirect discrimination towards girls to make their single sex spaces into mixed sex. Take a look at this recent thread.

Residential is run by a charity for kids with a particular condition. Dd16 identifies as male but I don't want her in male dormitory with boys aged 15-18 for safeguarding reasons. I'm worried she will tell them she's a boy and they will listen to her not me. Recently at NCS they put her in a separate room but not sure if that is an option here.

You need to ask the charity. As a residential centre we have no guidelines for this, the groups who book with us are responsible for deciding who sleeps where. It is usual for young people
to be offered separate accommodation however if we are aware of any circumstances that might warrant it - but we rely on the groups to ask us for that.

Safe Schools Alliance have a letter template on their website -

They state the relevant sections of the EQA2010 which does allow for single sex accomodation on residentials.
