Have tweeted this

Ok in itself - their money they can do what they like - but they are hiding dissenting replies and of course they do beggar all for any other protected characteristic holders. And the fact they go on about being 'safe' in their bio all rather suggests an unpleasant level of wokeness.

Sometimes I feel like we're witnessing the ends times - like the ends of the Roman empire - as we descend into decadent malfunctioning madness.

NatWest are supposed to be a bank for god sake - they are supposed to be free market supporters not sociologists.

Maya is on the case:

Downthread is trans widows:

twitter.com/transwidows/status/1557783926390808578?s=21&t=pEoEhrJpdqiI7KoM8GXhyg

I've also seen people querying whether a separate festival is permitted. "No LGB without the T" and all that...

mynameisnotkate · 11/08/2022 19:15

Yuck. We’ve just got a new mortgage with NatWest. Would love to move it in protest, it unfortunately that’s not a stand I can take right now …

Whatsnewpussyhat · 11/08/2022 19:23

What 'legal equality' don't they already have?

Georgeskitchen · 11/08/2022 19:48

It's not "their" money though is it, OP, it's their customers money!!

FOJN · 11/08/2022 19:48

This thread is excellent. I will promptly forget where I saw it and the pertinent details but it's very useful for challenging sex Vs gender in data collection.

I am so embarrassed for my former employer. There is no way the Group HQ PR department would have touched this political stuff with a bargepole 20 years ago.

ChristinaXYZ · 11/08/2022 19:57

To be fair @Georgeskitchen NatWest is a business not a Co-op so it is their money to spend on 'marketing' or whatever as their board of directors via the management etc see fit. If you are a NatWest customer you don't get a share of the profits - it is the share holders money if anyone's. A bank should be a capitalist entity not a flippin 'progressive' lecture theatre!

Thank you for the Maya thread @ResisterRex this is particularly shocking twitter.com/leakylike/status/1557782390336004096 How dare they! Way out of their banking lane on the subject of trans widows!

Thank goodness for Sex Matters. I am beginning to find this very intimidating. Natwest is my bank.

Bringon2023 · 11/08/2022 20:21

Eugh I do all my banking and mortgage with NatWest! I liked them until this! Why does every company lately have to get on the pride/trans bus? Why aren't businesses supporting other minority groups or political causes like they do the trans community. I just don't get it.

IcakethereforeIam · 11/08/2022 22:51

Doesn't the Government still own a big chunk of the NatWest?

ElBandito · 11/08/2022 23:27

I know they don't like any widows from the way they treated my mum after my dad died. Utter bastards.

MummBRaaarrrTheEverLeaking · 13/08/2022 09:29

Bugger, they're my bank and I was considering getting a credit card at some point but they can get stuffed. Do we know any banks these days who haven't signed up to the Woo Woo wagon or are they all on it 🙁

CompleteGinasaur · 13/08/2022 09:49

I'd like to take Andy up on his offer to take my money and run out of the Halifax as though it was an ideological house on fire also, but I don't know where to go either, MummBRaaarrrTheEverLeaking. Does anyone have any suggestions? (A couple of women in my ReSisters group are in the same boat, so all ideas gratefully received!)

BaileySharp · 13/08/2022 10:26

Urgh my mortgage with natwest too and also not in a position to move it.
I think pretty much all the banks jump on the pride bandwagon adding progress flag to their logos, but the ones going above and beyond for gender ideology are Halifax and now natwest and HSBC made some comments too didnt they?

CompleteGinasaur · 13/08/2022 11:34

Thanks, Bailey, I had a suspicion it was going to be a case of the least bad, not the best, option..

Waitwhat23 · 13/08/2022 12:01

Natwest's gender pay gap is 28.4% but they seem less keen in addressing that.

Feckedupbundle · 13/08/2022 12:06

I've had to deal with Lloyds recently,on behalf of relatives. Until last week, they had the pride progress flag on their logo. I noticed this morning that it's no longer there, just the black horse. Dare I hope that they've seen sense?

Nope it's probably just because PRIDE month finished. Asda's logo is all rainbowed up every summer.

Feckedupbundle · 14/08/2022 12:44

To be honest, pride month seems to go on forever, but you could be right. PayPal still have that oppressive logo though.

IcakethereforeIam · 14/08/2022 12:51

According to the attached as of April 2022 the Government, taxpayers, own 48% of Natwest.
