@puffyisgood
Perhaps we were wrong. This graphic from Lionesses' Twitter shows that the players are pretty evenly distributed around the country. With the exception of the southwest.

Laughing a lot at “The Guardian - chief mourner at every wedding “ .
Great article.

I already know Burchill's history and agree she wouldn't give a fuck. My comment was based on TRAs not knowing the difference between the two Juliies.

Ah I missed this! Yes 😂

Sure, but London isn't just another area, it contains about a fifth of England's population... compare that spread with the men's team - of the squad for its most recent game, fully 10 players [James, Guehi, Tomori, Gallagher, Rice, Mount, Kane, Saka, Sterling, Abraham], the majority black or of mixed ancestry grew up/played youth football in and around London:

The media coverage of this has overall been very good. I was reminded of Jill Scott's nickname of 'Crouchie', on account of her lean physique and 5'11" height being something of a female equivalent of ex-England men's player Peter Crouch's spindly 6'7" frame. A useful reminder of just what an asset (trans) male height would be in the women's game. You just know that there's a section of the commentariat that's a little annoyed by the lack of trans representation on this team, possibly exacerbated by so many of the players being lesbian buttresses of the hated 'cotton ceiling'.

I loved the article and aside from all the uplifting stuff, appreciated the description of Frankie Boyle as 'barely human'.

I tell you what is misogynistic, the Daily Mail printing that picture of Chloe Kelly with her top off five times in the last two days.

That's the Daily Mail for you.
