An American man who killed one girlfriend in 1965 and a second in New York in 1985 after being released from prison subsequently identified as a transwoman and was placed in a female homeless shelter after being granted parole for the second murder.

Marceline Harvey (born Harvey Marcelin) has now been charged with killing a woman for the third time at the age of 83.

The New York Times notes, "The [police and court] records include several examples of her harassing or attacking women throughout her life. She was accused of attempted rape at 14; the victim was an 8-year-old girl. Ms. Harvey, who by her own account struggled with her mental health, said she had to choke down rage when women challenged her manliness before she transitioned — making fun of her soft voice, for example.

A homeless shelter worker and people close to Ms. Leyden [the latest murder victim] questioned whether, despite her gender identity, Ms. Harvey should have been placed in a homeless shelter for women, given her history of attacking and murdering them."

But yet again, safeguarding to protect women was less important than validating the gender identity of a violent male.

They take us for fools. How does a paper that treats its readers with such contempt survive?

Despite her objections, Ms. Brennan said her supervisors allowed Ms. Harvey entry.

But identifying as transgender did allow the male perpetrator access to defenceless women and access to his THIRD victim.

Do any of these lawmakers and supervisors have a conscience? How do they live with themselves knowing that their rules and the following of those rules result in the inevitable death, rape, assault, etc of females?

pretty sure the headline was "84 year old woman accused of murder". It was on a UK website, IIRC.

news to me that Harvey has been accused of rape, though sadly not surprising.

we are just like disposable paper dolls in the minds of those running the show.
