"Other the cis people"

So YouTube recommended me a channel (I had been watching a lot of Blaire White she's a wonderfully honest to the point trans woman)

but the channel video YouTube recommended was ridiculous and the comment section made me lose faith in humanity, this one stood out:

Is there any hope this is all just a phase?! What has happened in the last decade🙄This youtuber has almost a million subscribers too (I wish I'd never stumbled on it)

aah I messed up the post but the comment basically said 'assume everyone is trans so it would be 'men' and 'not trans men' other the cis people for once' so here I am, a not trans woman

I honestly despair. I don't want to be involved in this idiocy anymore. I sometimes feel like I am in a parallel universe

Why should we assume trans when even they say they are such a small number that they make no difference to our lives? Just a few tragic people wanting to pee. Yet - we are to see them as the norm and describe ourselves by using them as the benchmark?

Nonsense like this really drives home how under-utilised some peoples' brains are and how that's a social failing. These are people who want to be thinking, but they've not been engaged usefully enough in society so they spend time/have the time to spend using their brain to pontificate about white on YouTube/tiktok/insta/whatever.

Honestly, combining enabling almost the entire world to empty the contents of their heads into the public square in multiple formats combined with the mantra that “everyone is valid” has done humanity no favours. Far too many people don’t know how to listen, because all they do is speak.

The issues with so-called (& would-be) influencers are familiar ground; but all the people who claim to be “activists” (& sometimes educators) get given a free pass because they (almost universally) identify as belonging to groups holding protected characteristics. Incoherent rants to camera filled with inaccurate information are neither education nor activism but they get lauded as both; & inaccurate information flows through & round social media silting up into “facts” that Everyone Knows (including, betimes, the mainstream media).

It’s a sad indictment of the British education systems to consider the figures who have effectively been promoted vastly beyond their intelligence when it comes to TRAs. In which I include those foreigners who seek to intervene here; & to [coordinate the] harass[ment of] British citizens. An embarrassment so many trot after them bleating tired lies & self-evident nonsense.

Don’t get me wrong - social media can be invaluable. The way it’s used - & not just related to this subject - by many people now, however, is so far the reverse it’s almost touching the other side.
