Tuned into an item about menopause and a great text sent in by a woman about how we can’t ensure good outcomes for women if we cant define ourselves as a sex class, not gender. Caroline’s response was truly treacherous, talking about wonderful TW who were helping their menopausal friends out by sharing their oestrogen supplies. Astonishing that TW were centred in this part of the interview.

Sunak has finally made it clear where he stands. In today's Telegraph:
"The fact that we have a conversation about what a woman is , is quite frankly extraordinary. As a parent of two young girls and married to one I know exactly what a woman is. We don't need to have a debate about it. I am going to stand up for women's rights, whether it is in the language that people are now trying to erase from public life, access to changing rooms, sports - we need to stand up for women's rights. It is not bigoted or somehow narrow-minded to say that."

Perhaps he always thought that and just didn't want to get drawn into the silly debate on TV a while back, or perhaps he has belatedly realised that the prevailing wind has changed direction.....either way it now seems both contenders for the leadership are gender critical.

'I know exactly what a woman is' says Sunak. But he still isn't going to spell it out, which leaves plenty of room for gaslighting later.

I don't think this ends with the leadership result. I expect whoever gets those cabinet and committee positions will be subjected to the most intense lobbying. They're all going to need a steel backbone and we're going to need 5 eyes each.

Does anyone know the HRT dose for most women and the therapeutic hormone dose for tw? I'd have thought tw would need a bigger dose of oestrogen as it has to act on a male body and so has more work to do than on a female, oestrogen-sensitised body. But I don't know.

So, a man who is using estrogen (thus depriving a woman who needs it for medical reasons) is kindly sharing some of his supply. And according to Noakes this just shows the sisterly solidarity of transwomen? Hmmm...

This! Absolutely bonkers, and had me shouting at the radio this morning. Emma Barnett put the question to Nokes, but then didn't challenge her BS. Grrr!

13 minutes in....

Here's the link. The discussion about the menopause report starts 2:32 minutes in: www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/m0019kjt

Is she implying that of you are friendly towards transwomen, they might give you some drugs? Drugs that are by rights developed specifically for menopausal women?

What the fuck?

I know I'm cynical but I've always suspected all this sudden interest in the menopause (though overdue) is just a bone to throw the cohort of women most likely to be GC.

I don't think I agree with you about the reason but I must admit I'm curious as to why and how the menopause became so... fashionable.
Is it another case of following the money?
