Powerful blog from Steph today.

"She then touched on general LGBT+ issues and totally out of the blue, said, "trans women are women, & trans men are men."

And to my amazement, virtually all the women in the audience shook their heads in agreement..

What a strange thing to do, @PomegranateOfPersephone

They want to come to FiLIA but the mean old ladies won't let them play?

PomegranateOfPersephone · 21/07/2022 20:43

Well you know what mean old ladies are like, being all polite and rational and inviting the young TRA’s in to listen to the speakers. All a front of course for um being rational and seeking debate… anyway someone had better stop the mean old ladies before they get dangerously close to persuading people that women and girls are human beings worthy of respect, of privacy, of words to describe themselves, their bodily processes and their uniquely female experiences, of protection from physical violence at the hands of men that kind of thing.

Did we ever establish whether Steph’s place Steph was the same one of this board? The one who found the WiSpa protest so horrific and soundly blamed posters on MN FWR and their ilk for said violence?

I cannot quite remember if it was ever established. Steph is a common name after all.

I think Steph has graced us with Steph's presence here but I don't think that was the same Steph.

Thanks for the clarification, Tinsel. It is a common name so I wasn’t sure.

I think that just this once, @Conflictedunicorn, it was Georgi Manev instead.

Don’t know if anyone [else] is geeky enough to be interested in fact that headshaking to communicate the negative is practically universal from babyhood, but this seems an apposite place to share that wee interview with Dr Bross from last August. And indeed share (for those unaware) that the German word for “a shake of the head” is the wonderfully onomatopoeiac Kopfschütteln.
