In the latest move to spread gender ideology into science, “gender activists push to bar anthropologists from identifying human remains as ‘male’ or ‘female,'”

It’s so ridiculously hilarious isn’t it, sometimes it’s like a parody of itself honestly

bellinisurge · 19/07/2022 16:03

Alice Roberts was pulling this shit on the last thing of hers that I watched. It was hilarious because the other experts were having none of it and refusing to use her gender neutral type terms.
I listened out for it because I knew she was a "human beings are like clownfish" person

Whatsnewpussyhat · 19/07/2022 16:09

It would be hilarious if it wasn't actually happening.

JaneJeffer · 19/07/2022 16:11

I can't watch Alice Roberts the biological anthropologist who doesn't believe in biology any more.

They are making fools of the authorities with ludicrous demands. They must be laughing their heads off behind closed doors.

Findwen · 19/07/2022 16:52

I hate the non-inclusive language they use. Why on earth in these enlightened times do they think it is perfectly fine to assume these people identify as human. They may have identified as an animal spirit, a god or other non-human identity.

Perhaps Alice Roberts will finally way up to the fact that Nariokotome Boy en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Turkana_Boy she often referred to might have identified as a reincarnated horse spirit and therefore should be removed from the hominid fossil record.

BellaAmorosa · 19/07/2022 17:20

First they have to explain how they know that people in the past had or even recognised the concept of gender identities (since many people today don't), then they have to explain why gender identity even matters to anyone except the person claiming it.

LunchPoems · 19/07/2022 17:21

I started a thread about this the other day as I couldn’t understand it, but little did I know what was coming!

Motorina · 19/07/2022 21:03

“We propose a gender-expansive approach to human identification by combing missing and unidentified databases looking for contextual clues such as decedents wearing clothing culturally coded to a gender other than their assigned sex,” reads the mission statement.

So assuming people buried with weapons were men?

in other words, just the sort of sexism that led generations of classicists to assume that the amazons were myths.

Until we looked closely at the remains, sexed them, and found out otherwise.

Yeah. Cos that’s progressive.

Truthlikeness · 19/07/2022 22:06

We're constantly told gender expression is not the same as gender identity, so how does what they wore tell you anything? You can't look inside their heads to see how they identified...well, you can, but you're just going to see dirt and worms..

MumUndone · 19/07/2022 22:36

It's a wonder any of us even exist, given there were no biological men or women to procreate and thereby generate descendants.

heartbroken22 · 19/07/2022 22:37

Im speechless.

I don't care if someone thinks I'm male or female. I know what I am. So I don't think dead me would care either.

PermanentTemporary · 19/07/2022 23:20

Digging past the far right presentation, I find that this story is about an organisation which is mostly concerned with unidentified dead bodies where an LGBTQ+ background is possible. Seem to be driven by trying to bottom out the statistics on death and suicide in gay and trans people.

I've no doubt the said organisation is one person and a dog bigging themselves up, and obviously I don't agree with pretending dead bodies don't have a sex, but there's not much evidence of a 'movement'.

Which one was this? Alice Roberts, sigh. Please lay off the kool aid, I really liked her programmes.

I used to really like her too. I am disappointed to hear that she has decided to start pretending that she doesn't understand biology.

bellinisurge · 20/07/2022 12:53

It was her most recent Digging For Britain. I really enjoy these and used to like her but they are a chore to watch knowing her nonsense.
Similarly Dr Janina Ramirez. Love her stuff. Love her style. She did some gender woo tweets recently and it broke my heart a little.

Absolutely! A clear risk of equinedivinophobia.

ha ha.

I'm looking forward to reading a modern version of the Bible, in which Noah needs an awfully large ark to house 150, or however many genders it is that we're up to now, members of each animal species.

It's coming thanks to the pontificating idiot Church of England bishops.

Ah man, those two would be in my imaginary girl crew.

heartbroken22 · 20/07/2022 20:19

But why? Are they going to ask the dead corpse what they identified with?

MagpiePi · 20/07/2022 21:04

The last paragraph is interesting;

“Sexing skeletal remains is a critical skill in forensics and any diminishing of this skill will negatively impact criminal investigations, denying the victims and their families justice,” Weiss added.

It just makes my mind boggle at where this could lead.

NitroNine · 21/07/2022 01:54

So they want us all to think that between around 1550 & 1900-1920ish there were no boys aged at all aged 0-2 in [pretty much the whole of] the Western world; & a massive imbalance between the sexes that gradually tapered to age 7/8? 🤨

Or do those centuries of - according to them - “trans girls” not count for some reason?

Massive big feck-off rule of studying history is not to apply modern thinking/values/interpretations etc to things. How in the hell that’s so casually being binned [here] I don’t know, but it is shameful.
