Happened in Brazil, he was only caught out when nurses hid a camera as they had suspicions something was off.

Saw this Twitter thread and was pretty horrified at how this really isn’t a rare one-off. mobile.twitter.com/Aromatica365/status/1546561941883215873

And these are only the ones that have been found out and reported in the news, likely the minority of overall offences.

are woman not safe anywhere????! Just wtf

I'm an anesthetic nurse and was horrified to read this. It would never occur in this country.

Obviously women have partners with them for c sections.

We don't routinely sedate patients in this way. (Except for specific surgeries and with prior consent). And definitely not for a section, you don't want to miss the exciting bit!

We take patient dignity and consent extremely seriously.

Partners aren’t there the whole time.

The woman's partner was in the room, he was asked to leave Sad

This whole thing is horrifying. Such a shame that one of the unconscious women didn't have a jaw spasm and bite the fucker off. I hope the Brazilian anaesthetist gets what's coming to him in prison. I also cannot believe that vaginal exams are allowed without consent in the US, and were ever legal here!
When I was suffering a threatened miscarriage I was harassed and yelled at by a male doctor when I refused a vaginal exam by his student after I had already had an exam by a female doctor and was given the all clear to be discharged. They came into the room and chatted to each other in another language, clearly about me, for a good 10 minutes. Awkward as fuck. All I needed was the tummy ultrasound scan to see if the baby was alive so I could go home.
The doctor told me to remove my trousers and underwear for an exam. I said I had already had one and just wanted to go home now. The nurse backed me up and handed him my notes. He told me that I had to if I wanted to get home anytime soon and because it was necessary. I asked why seeing that my cervix was closed and a female doctor had just checked me and he told me, "it is a teaching hospital madam! If the students do not get to examine patients how do you think that they will learn?!" His voice was raised and it was quite intimidating. I kept declining and he got more irate until the nurse pretty much let him have it. He angrily did the ultrasound, said, "There! There is the heartbeat." Put the ultrasound scanner back and stormed out. I assume the nurse later got into trouble for it but I will love that woman for the rest of my life. Seems women's bodily autonomy doesn't count when a man decides teaching someone is more important.

How horrible for you. Thank goodness for that brave nurse.
