...but only when it comes to two gay men buying babies and the 'wrong' sex being delivered.

Just saw this on Twitter and I don't even know where to start with this story. 🤐

The financial impact to the Sanigers is "staggering" because they ultimately will be raising three children rather than the two sons for which they had planned, the suit states.

Poor girl.

veggiemonster · 10/07/2022 20:41

What will happen to the precious G Mail accounts?!?!?

This is absolutely horrific. Poor woman. Poor baby.

World's fucked.

Absolutely this. FFS!

StrawberryLipstickStateOfMind1 · 11/07/2022 02:06

Surely they could just sue the midwife who "assigned", their baby the wrong sex.
That's how it works right?

LovelyFlora · 11/07/2022 02:08

It is obscene that men can do this to women and children.

Male entitlement writ large.

Whatwouldscullydo · 11/07/2022 07:21

But what if the baby is realky a boy?

Are they assuming the babys gender?

This is just one of the reasons why surrogacy is so wrong.

Babies aren't cars you can't just pick the interior and colour. You get what you are given.

For those who don't want to give PN the clicks
Appalling story.

ItsDangerousInKingsmarkham · 11/07/2022 07:37

That's horrific. How can they not see how utterly entitled this is! And the fact they are probably lauded for their progressive approach to family life makes me feel ill.

Tell you what guys, I'd love another wee one. Pop round with her and I'll love the bejeesus out of her. I'll even make her an email address.

Clymene · 11/07/2022 07:43

That poor little girl Sad

Musomama1 · 11/07/2022 07:55

I thought there were no inherent differences between males and females eh???

Why are they declaring a gender on their child, they are surely NB until they show whether they like blue or pink more?

A special people tantrum about not getting everything their way all the frigging time, love your baby ffs, they are not a product to return.

WhiteFire · 11/07/2022 08:04

Cattenberg · 10/07/2022 20:49

The clinic also advertises sex screening for eggs so parents can choose the sex of their child.

Erm, that’s not how it works, Pink News. Guess again.

Their grasp of biology knows no bounds.

WeeBisom · 11/07/2022 08:04

I’m just going to rant about something I’ve seen time and time again from the trans activist side. Even though they say a woman is anyone who says they are a woman, and the concept of “womanhood” is entirely up in the air, we all all KNOW that they don’t really believe this and that lurking in the background is the default concept that woman= adult human female.

We are in this utterly bizarre situation where everyone actually knows what a woman is, but trans ideology prohibits them from saying and believing it.

But because women ARE females, reality often breaks through and the ideology is entirely abandoned … especially when it is convenient. See Owen Jones wanting to find a woman to be a surrogate for him, or men who don’t see trans women as women for relationship purposes. And the infuriating thing is the ideology is abandoned without even acknowledging it’s been chucked, and by treating women who point this out like trolls.

If pink news really believed the shit it was spouting it would have run the story as “transphobic gay couple conflate sex and gender, demand their child is a “boy”. We would have been patiently told that the couple have made an error , and that sex is actually assigned and separate from gender. They may very well have a little boy or even some other gender flavour entirely. They just have to wait and see.

But instead, pink news have reverted to reality and are ranting that the couple didn’t get a male child (what happened to the complexity and fluidity of sex?) and anyone pointing this out is deleted and blocked.

It makes me so mad, because we don’t even get the dignity of having to argue with interlocutors who genuinely believe what they are saying. Everyone knows sex is real and everyone knows what a woman is, it’s just that we are punished for being frank.

ShirleyPhallus · 11/07/2022 08:10

Reading the twitter thread on this is very amusing, click on the top right hand 3 dots and select “view hidden replies”, pink news is hiding all the comments basically saying the exact same as us

bellinisurge · 11/07/2022 08:10

Look at the hidden replies. Their grift is crumbling

Whatwouldscullydo · 11/07/2022 08:22

You gotta laugh at the tagging of dawn butler...

LunchPoems · 11/07/2022 08:50

its vile.

But as @WeeBisom says, no one really believes this shit, even PN

LeniGray · 10/07/2022 20:38

Can you even tell what sex a child will be from an embryo? 🤔

Regardless, that’s grim.

apparently not as accurately as they'd have liked.

/I'd assume you grow multiple embryonic cell clusters and then 'twin' each of them i.e. cut the cell cluster in half, test the dna of one half and allow the other to continue dividing. This could theoretically work but I wasn't aware it had been passed as ethical and legal anywhere in the world.

howdoesatoastermaketoast · 11/07/2022 09:09

Totally agree about the grim bit as the saying goes - there's a lot to unpack here...

PearlClutch · 11/07/2022 09:10

And the couple are named, so when their daughter is old enough to use a gmail account she will be able to find out on google that her fathers didn't want her and that she is the 'wrong' sex.

As has been the case so often, female babies are unwanted because females are seen as lesser.

Dear girl: sending you love and strength.

GrabbyGabby · 11/07/2022 09:12

I cant stop thinking about that little girl. They clearly don't want her, she is a blemish on their carefully controlled bought and paid for family.

They see women and girls as commodities. To be bought, and refunded because they are faulty it seems.

She should not be raised by them. This is so sickening.

WhiteFire · 11/07/2022 09:23

Sex selection is legal in many places though often only for medical reasons. IVF brings up a lot of ethical issues, I'm not sure that this is any greater than the others.

A bit more info though.

Mennex · 11/07/2022 09:28

I thibk they can tell, roughly, sex of the embryo visually - because X chromosomes are larger so XX female embryos are slightly larger that XY male ones at some point. But it's obviously not foolproof, as here.

Or maybe they actually extract cells now to test but surely that would risk issues with that embryo?

Either way the whole thing is repugnant. Surrogacy should be illegal.

Don’t they just ask the embryo what its pronouns are?

I'm thinking the same as you. Imagine being raised in a family that don't want you this much.

No silly, they pull them out of the sorting hat at birth, everyone knows that.

BudgetTarzan · 11/07/2022 10:09

That poor girl. So not only will she know she was never wanted unlike her two brothers, she'll also have to have an email address with numbers in, unlike her brothers.
