On a Facebook political group, with a man who said that he hope that one of the Tory candidates (Stella B) doesn't get the job because she wants to get rid of "wokeism" in schools. I said it's great that she wants to stop this unscientific nonsense on pur kids, and he has basically called me a wine drinking middle class mum with no clue. For perspective his profile pic is of him with rainbows all over his face and background. I need to back away quickly don't I?!

'wokeism' is an undefined term that means nothing. there are some ideas that are good & should be taught in schools (don't be racist for example) but that some people classify as wokeism. there are other ideas that are silly (gender identity etc).

So I would want to know precisely what someone means by getting rid of 'wokeism' before I applauded it as a good thing.

Block him. You can also disable FB for a while to give your head some peace. It doesn't affect Messenger so you will still be in the online world.

One of my sons has actually deleted FB and Twitter. I was relieved to find that only 8% of the worlds ppl are on Twitter. And I expect only a tiny fraction of that 8% are 'woke'.
