I’m a bit worried about him (I know, I don’t know him from Adam but he’s been on my radar since I was a teen). He’s been through the wringer recently and it looks like he’s got rotten man troubles right now.

Love Marilyn. What fabulous tweets, this is when I wish I wish I wasn’t banned from that women hating site.

I follow him, having been a super-fan back in the 80s. (Dug out my Calling Your Name single during lockdown and rediscovered the love!) His relationship dramas are hot chaos on twitter, but his total lack of patience with TRA tantrumming, lecturing and scolding is an absolute delight. He really knows what it's like to be shamed for gender non-comformity and he is going to take NO SHIT from anyone whinging that they/them are the Most Oppressed Evah, while calling all the shots and making everyone bow to their every demand. Definitely worth a follow and a supportive like or two. (The photos he posts are also amazing.)

Why wouldn't he?

I do worry for his mental health, I adore him but I don’t think he is very stable.
I do love that he sees straight through the bullshit though in the way I’d hoped Boy George would.

Teen DC and I were watching an 80s TOTP a while ago and was pleased to be able to point out Marilyn being gender non-conforming without any of the TRA nonsense that seems de rigeur these days.

This is the annoying thing, the present day young people think this is all new but it's so old! I was a child when Karma Chameleon was number one. However boy George of the 80s never claimed to be anything other than a man!

I remember reading Boy George's autobiography in the mid 90s ('take it like a man' - superb read) and a thing that struck me is that BG routinely used female pronouns when referring to female presenting gay males, Marilyn in particular... but that he did this without for a minute implying that Marilyn was literally a woman...
