Stonewall Champion

I was contacted by a recruitment agent about a job. On googling, I find that the client is a Stonewall Champion. I am going to refuse to go forward with an application because of this.
I want to tell the agent and hope that he tells his client the reason, too. The agent sounds like your typical salesman; he is overloud and sounds like a cross between an Apprentice candidate and that 80s throwback Loadsamoney.

Any helpful hints on wording that might possibly get through?
I give no fucks, by the way. I don't care if I never hear from the recruitment agency again.

Great idea.
We had an hour long "inclusivity" chat at work by colleagues brandishing pronouns and I was so fucked off. My skill set is mainly public sector and charities so not holding out too much hope of a move anywhere better Wink

Unfortunately your client’s status as a Stonewall Diversity Champion erodes my confidence that my rights and freedom of expression would be respected.

Following today's Forstater judgment, I'm concerned about your client's status as a Stonewall Champion and how that might reflect on me in the future (to work for people who had so little care for due diligence.)

Absolutely. I would backpedal as fast as possible away from any company that seemed to be laying itself open to possible litigation/reputational damage from a misapplication of Stonewall law.

This company employs more than 10,000 people. How much would their levy be?

A bit of a side track here, but how do you find out if a company is a Stonewall champion? I know that the large, multinational company that I work for used to be chanpions and are still all over the pride/rainbow logo thing.
They are not in SW's most recent top 100 list, but I cannot find anything from searching generally on Google and on the company intranet pages as to whether they still are champions.

I've drafted it. I will sleep on it overnight.

The job is about taking in data, analysing it and coming to your own conclusion. I've made the point that, by delegating training to Stonewall, the company seems to be failing in this regard. It could be open to all sorts of lawsuits. Mentioned Maya.

I tried to address the "why would they get involved / what's in it for them" question by suggesting that the recruitment agency get itself some brownie points by getting HR up to speed on current developments in I&D.

Then I said that I wouldn't feel safe working for a SC.

Finished with a thank you but no thank you.

Just say they are a bunch of science dodging bellends and it's a point of principle for you not to work with fucking twats

No way!! Apply - get to interview stage and tell them yourself, when you turn down the job......

Or, wait until you are employed and then bring it up with HR - remember, they cannot discriminate against you for your GC beliefs!!

Thank you

I had looked at the Sex Matters list previously and they are still on it.
I am hoping that because there doesn't seem to be any reference to it on the website that they are distancing themselves.

My firm is a Stonewall Champion, has been for years but it doesn't impact anything, they deal with DEI sensibly, I.e separate loos by sex but also inclusive loo on every floor. Option to add pro nouns to signature but optional (not many do)

Got a waffly "we understand your POV".

They have said that they won't put me forward for any more SC jobs. That probably means that they won't put me forward for any jobs.Grin
