Maya wrote the above on one of her Twitter threads today. Just a note of caution that people not use this as an excuse to do exactly what we have been trying to protect ourselves from. I’ve already seen some folk on Twitter misinterpreting this and taking it to mean that Maya’s views are now the only legitimate ones, when clearly that was not the point of the ruling, it was that she was entitled to express her views and not be harassed and discriminated against. It’s not about instigating open season on those you don’t agree with.

If there's already a thread discussing the tribunal decision it could have been posted there, even if such a warning were needed here, which I don't think it is, though it must have seemed important to the OP at the time.

There was no need to dump a whole tweet as a five-line paragraph taking up the screen in place of a thread title.

I just came to say listening to her this morning on R4 made me feel very proud of her and a bit emotional. Brilliant stuff!

Yeah, I thought it was important too. As much as he specific viewpoints need to be upheld as ok, underlying that is the idea that people need to be able to have different, sometimes deeply different, views and still live and work in the same society.
